Artwork Appreciation
LO Chiao-Ling mainly uses her childhood memories, family and daily life as inspirations. By depicting children, she captures people's innocence and sincerity. In I Like Giraffes, she depicts a girl dressed in a giraffe pattern cloth. With the flowing strokes of acrylic paint, she formed a visual image of a childish dream. Through the children in her work, LO Chiao-Ling reflects on why children have some special behaviors and preferences. Children's free and explicit emotions highlight the long-term depression of adults. Adults even try to be separated from themselves, so that they can think about what is ideal, acting freely.
